The benefits of a top-mounted wing configuration were presented compared to a bottom-mounted setup. It was investigated how the performance of a car equipped with the splitter and the rear wing could be improved. All the presented results were obtained using the numerical simulations performed in ANSYS Fluent in steady-state conditions. This study was prepared to demonstrate how the aerodynamics of a sports car can be enhanced, emphasizing aerodynamic improvements, and utilizing small movable elements. Consequently, the aerodynamics resistance can be significantly reduced by having a proper arrangement of vehicle cruising in highways. This average drag coefficient shows a reduction of 26.8%. But if you're looking for a pure-driving roadster, the Miata is an even better choice. Usually when it comes to selecting a manual-transmission, rear-drive roadster we'd be tempted to gravitate to the sportiest model in the 124's case, that is the Abarth with its optional rorty exhaust and upgraded brakes, along with Abarth-specific suspension tuning and a limited-slip differential.
